OCTOBER BATTLECRY prayer points

With the beginning of the Acquire the Fire 06-07 Youth Events, the continuation of the Battle Cry Leadership Summits, and a new class of interns at the Honor Academy, the Battle Cry Campaign is in full force, and the enemy is angry. The enemy knows that if we, as Christians, become unified, we will destroy him. He feels threatened by us: as he should! However, this means that he will try as hard as he can to tear us apart, to distract us, and make us ineffective. That’s why it is necessary that now, more than ever, we must unite in prayer. We need to pray that the Battle Cry continues to rescue the hearts and minds of teenagers across North America. We need to pray that the Battle Cry continues to help teenagers turn away from drugs, alcohol, lust, self-injury, and other sinful and destructive behaviors.

At times the task of rescuing 33 million young people can seem overwhelming. Please pray for the leadership behind Battle Cry and Teen Mania Ministries, as well as for pastors, youth workers, and parents. Pray that they will be encouraged and strengthened. Battle Cry Leadership Summits (BCLS) are conferences for pastors and leaders within the church. At these conferences pastors discover what is facing today’s young people. They learn how to help and they leave equipped and ready to change their communities, churches, and youth groups. Pray for Ron Luce, Joel Johnson, Mike Guzzardo, and the other speakers at BCLS. Pray that pastors will have teachable hearts, and that they will understand exactly what is happening to today’s teenagers. Please thank God for what has already been accomplished through these conferences. Many pastors have begun to put into action what they have learned at a BCLS. As a youth pastor from Boston, MA, summed it up like this, “I think it’s going to be exactly what we need to get the wheels turning in the right areas and get our youth ministry really rocking.” Another pastor from Boston, MA put it, “This further opened my eyes to the needs of youth in this generation; if we don’t do something we’re going to lose them.”

Please pray that churches across North America will begin to understand the urgency of rescuing this generation. Every church is needed in the fight to rescue a whole generation. We cannot sit back and watch as the enemy continues to destroy the lives of young people. Everyone must get involved. Pray for commitment, determination and passion from pastors and parents. Pray that they will get involved and not give up until every teenager has heard the truth.

Every year there are thousands of young people whose lives are changed at Acquire the Fire conventions. This year the first Acquire the Fire was held in Amherst, MA. It was a huge success and God’s presence was definitely there. Young people heard God calling them and dedicated their lives to Him! Pray that God would continue to move through Ron Luce, Joel Johnson, and Mike Guzzardo at these events. Pray that there will be more lives touched than ever before! Pray for the upcoming Acquire the Fire events in Lexington, KY, Atlanta, GA and Hamilton, Ontario.

A large part of the Battle Cry is being run by teenagers who choose to dedicate all that they have to God by coming to the Honor Academy. Pray for the new class of interns, who arrived in August, and also for the class that is coming in January. Pray for their hearts to be open and ready for what God has planned. Pray that the new class of interns and the Teen Mania staff would be united as one body and be used by God in the coming year. Please pray that together they will advance the kingdom of Heaven with joy in their hearts. Also, pray that the Lord will provide financially for the new interns.

As the school year begins and students across North America start back into their normal routines, they are being faced with terrible temptations. They live in a sexualized culture and have easy access to point-and-click pornography. They attend schools that are being corrupted by violence. They are completely saturated with media, through television, movies and magazines. Pray that they will hear God and experience His love for them. Pray that they will turn away from the sinfulness of this world and turn to God. Pray that Christians will rise up and change their schools for the glory of the Lord.

Now is the time to pray and to follow God’s calling for our lives. Now is the time to reach this lost generation. If we wait too long, it will be too late and millions of people will walk away from the Lord.

Thank you for your heart for youth and your earnest prayers. They are earnestly appreciated as together we seek to rescue this generation.
