August BattleCry Prayer Points
Young people across the country know what August means. Soon bells will be ringing as school goes back into session. As these young people receive an education, we believe that the most important thing they could ever know is what it means to personally know God.
The BattleCry campaign strives to turn the hearts America’s young people towards God. As we continue to fight, please keep us in your prayers. Here are the prayer points for the month of August, 2006.
Summary of prayer points:
- Strong and unified leadership in churches and ministries.
- Stamina, stability, and commitment from leaders and parents to not give up until this generation is turned around for God.
- Focus from the Body of Christ to reach and disciple this generation.
- Continued growth and discipleship for people who decided to follow Jesus this summer.
- Unity among the Teen Mania staff and new class of Honor Academy interns coming in August and for God to use them in powerful ways.
- That this year’s Acquire the Fire and BattleCry events will go according to God’s plan.
- Dependence on God’s strength, not our own, to fulfill the task we have been given.
Many churches and ministries are passionate about doing God’s work but may become discouraged by hardships that inevitably come their way. Please pray that these churches and ministries will have a strong, unified leadership team that will remain steadfast during trying times. Pray that they will keep their cool and put their trust in God in the midst of the storm.
Rescuing a generation of 33 million young people is a daunting task, but we cannot afford to let them fall through the cracks. Please pray for stamina, stability and commitment from leaders and parents in our country, and pray that they will not let down or give up until we see this generation turned around for God.
Unless we stay focused on reaching and discipling these young people, within a few years, it will be too late, and millions will walk away from God. Pray that the Church will not be distracted by fear of what is happening in the culture or the world around us. Also, ask God to bring focus to the Body of Christ and a sense of urgency for the hour that we live in.
During the summer, thousands of people go on short term mission trips with Global Expeditions and other organizations to places within the U.S. and all over the world. Please pray that the new Christians brought into the family of God by those missionaries will be nurtured, encouraged, and discipled by older Christians in their local area. Pray that none will fall back into their old life and that they will continue to mature in their newfound relationship with God.
Starting every August, a group of young people sacrifice a year of their lives to grow closer to God and serve in the work of His ministry by coming to Teen Mania and the BattleCry’s internship, the Honor Academy. Pray that Teen Mania staff and the incoming intern class will quickly to be unified as one body, and that God will use them as a mighty tool in the coming year.
Big plans are in the works this season for Acquire the Fire and the BattleCry. Many things are going on behind the scenes to make many events happen in different cities in the United States and Canada. Please pray that all the planning for these Acquire the Fire & BattleCry events will go according to God’s plan and not be hindered by the enemy.
Sometimes, we might think that we can accomplish great things without God’s help. As Christians, we must rely on God to do greater things than we could ever do by ourselves. Pray that believers will not try to do God’s work in their own strength, but rather that they will be filled with the Spirit and power of God to complete the monumental task we have been given.
With every year that passes, 4.5 million young people turn twenty. Once they pass that milestone, the odds of reaching an individual for Christ is ten to one. The time to rescue them is now. Where this generation goes, the world will follow. Please pray for these points and the BattleCry campaign. This generation must be rescued for the Kingdom, before it is too late.
